Data residency and PIPA
Your information stays in Canada, and we hold ourselves to British Columbia’s privacy law. We collect as little as the job needs, keep it secure, and give you real control over it. This is how TrustID earns the trust in its name.

Canadian data residency
Your credential data lives in our secure trust core, hosted in Canada, never in the public web layer. It is encrypted at rest and in transit, and every access is written to an append-only audit. We do not move your records out of the country to process them.
PIPA and PIPEDA alignment
TrustID is built for British Columbia, so we align with BC’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), and with the federal PIPEDA where it applies. In practice that means a few simple promises:
- Consent first. We collect and share your information only with your agreement, and you can withdraw it.
- A clear purpose. We use your data to build your TrustID and verify your credentials, nothing else.
- Reasonable security. Encryption, access logging, and Canadian hosting are the baseline, not the exception.
- Openness. You can ask what we hold and why, and get a plain answer.
Data minimization
The safest data is the data we never collect. We ask for your name, your email, and the safety records you choose to add, and that is the floor we work from. We do not run credit, criminal, or background checks, and we are not a regulatory body. A verification returns a plain status, Verified, Checking, or Expired, not a pile of underlying documents.
Your rights
- View, correct, or export your information at any time.
- Delete your information and close your account whenever you choose.
- See who has viewed your verified status through your audit.
- Withdraw consent for any employer you have shared with.
